Mark D. White
Born and raised in Florida, I moved to the Northwest as a teen and after serving in the Air Force over in Italy (I wish I had my camera then. ) I moved to Seattle where I met my wife of fifteen years now (2006). We purchased a small 22 foot sail boat and cruised the San Juan Islands; what a sight! We loved it so much we bought a 38 foot Santana sail boat. We sailed every chance we could, and still do. I thought that this is too beautiful not to have it on film and to share with others. People come from all over the world to sail the San Juan Islands because they are protected waters. As for me, both of my grandfathers were artists, and so are my brother and aunt. I chose to pick up the camera instead of a paint brush. I have seen things out on the islands that if you were to paint them it would not look real, where as photography captures nature in its full likeness . Yes I shoot digital, but it has come a long way over the years. I have doctored up some images for fun but most of my photos I do very little prep work. I shoot in raw format so I have a better platform to work with and to be able to verify it is original. If you have any questions or would like to see something in particular e-mail me. I may have what you are looking for. I only posted a portion of what I actually have. Enjoy the slideshows.
